Business Culture Tip: 3 Areas To Balance In Myanmar

· Business Culture,Economy

In Myanmar, they say that there are 3 areas of life you need to have a balance to be successful. They is no particular order but if imbalanced you are going to get yourself in trouble.

1. Business

2. Social

3. Political

Now don’t raise your eyebrows at number 3. This article has nothing to do with politics in itself. Just what a businessman/woman must do in Myanmar to survive and thrive. Ok here’s the deal with the deal.

#1 Business, is obvious that you should be successful here and everyone reading this hopes to be successful or keep their success. If you are already successful in your business then listen to the other two.

#2 Social, means taking care of your relatives, people in your company, and those within your area of influence. This means from time to time you need to donate items to your neighborhood or help a family member out. It also means that if there is a problem aka. COVID-19, you are expected to help out with the recovery even if you may not have a lot of means, you are still expected.

#3 Political, this is where things can get wobbly and confusing. You have in your township different levels of authorities from block leaders to your area Hluttaw Representative. Again for #3 you are expected to help out the community. The authorities have the power to make your life very uncomfortable or find reasons to give you trouble. They can also promote your business as you are doing good for their communities and giving them a good name. The choice really is yours.

Success is great and can be sustained in Myanmar if all three of these areas are balanced well. If you are too successful in business without following the other two, you can have problems very quickly. So, what are you doing in Myanmar to help keep yourself balanced?
