Fraser and Neave (F&N), Singapore-listed beverage firm has returned to Myanmar beer market with Emerald Brewery Myanmar. F&N previously exited the market when it sold a 55% stake in Myanmar Brewery for US$560 million in 2015.
Emerald Brewery, a joint-venture between F&N and local partners, will be operated in Hlegu Township, Yangon to brew Chang Lager Beer.
With an investment of US$70 million, F&N will build a modern brewery which will provide an annual beer production capacity of 500,000 hectoliters, will expand logistics including sales and distribution operations, as well as will drive marketing and people capabilities.
Through Emerald Brewery, F&N will invest in local manufacturing, employ local people, engage local suppliers and distributors and support community investment programmes.
Emerald Brewery’s facility will pack and distribute Chang Lager Beer in five formats – 330ml and 500ml cans, 320ml and 620ml bottles and 30-litre keg.
