Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) has permitted new nine investments in meat packaging, rice and rice mill products, animal feed production, baby chicks’ production, CMP garment industries, power production, LPG industry, warehouse and logistics services and vehicle repairing training on January 11, 2019. These investments can create 2,227 job opportunities for locals.
According to Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), there was nearly USD 466 million foreign investments for fiscal year (October 1 to November, 2018-2019). Transportation sector with USD 171.790 million, other sector with USD 149.291 million and production sector with more than USD 100 million.
From 1988-1989 to 2018-2019 fiscal years, foreign direct investments reached around USD 78 billion by China with USD 20.249 billion and Singapore with USD 19.752 billion. Oil and gas sector with 29 per cent and energy sector with 27 per cent. For farming, construction, livestock and fishery sectors, there was less than one percent.
