Myanmar livestock and fisheries sector has attracted four foreign investment projects and one domestic business in the current financial year 2019-2020, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
The businesses include broiler chicken farming, production, processing and marketing of all kinds of poultry feed, broiler hatchery, production of shrimp, freezing, and cold storage. The businesses brought in around US$30 million, including the expansion of investments by the existing joint ventures.
Currently, 16 countries invested in the livestock and fisheries sector. Thailand has topped the list with over $380 million in 18 enterprises, followed by Singapore with over $129 million worth 14 enterprises.
