MOPFI launches Myanmar Project Bank

· Economic Development,Economy

The Ministry of Planning, Finance and Industry launched “Myanmar Project Bank” online platform together with GIZ Myanmar on 25th February at Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

The online platform is aimed to support communications among the government agencies and development partner organizations through predictable and transparent systems in implementing the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (MSDP), to help local and foreign private sectors access to MSDP, and to establish a simple and consistent mechanism for implementation.

The Myanmar government said the Project Bank will help identify, screen, appraise and prioritize investment projects based on social, environmental, economic and risk indicators. The online platform will help increase public-private partnerships and opportunities for the private sector to invest in national development objectives.

A total of 58 projects are currently listed in the Project Bank, having been screened by the National Economic Coordination Committee (NECC) to ensure that they align with the MSDP.
