Myanmar signs grant agreement with Japan

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have signed a grant agreement which worth 444 million Japanese Yen at the office of the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 4th November. The agreement is aimed to spend on implementing the project for provisions of agriculture and construction equipment in the rural areas in Myanmar.

The ceremony was attended by U Hla Kyaw, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Permanent Secretary U Kyaw Min, Director-General Kyaw Swe Lin of Planning Department, Director-General Soe Hlaing of Mechanized Farming Department, Director-General Khin Thet of Rural Road Department of the Ministry of Construction, and CEO Mr. Masayuki KARASAWA of the JICA.


The 444 million Japanese yen project includes farm implements, 61 machineries for construction purpose and related equipment and the provisions are intended to local people in Ayeyawaddy Region and Chin State.
