Japanese tech major NTT has launched its subsidiary in Myanmar with a USD 5 million (K7.2 billion) capital investment.
The company announced that its subsidiary NTT Myanmar was granted a business-to-business wholesale license from The Ministry of Commerce to offer ICT tools and managed services to enterprise customers in Myanmar. NTT Myanmar will provide managed services, software, multi/hybrid cloud, and consulting and support services in the Myanmar market.
NTT Myanmar also plans to support firms in the education and financial sectors in developing ICT-related human resources.
NTT has invested US$400 million to build the MIST – a large-capacity submarine communications cable between Singapore, Myanmar and India (Mumbai and Chennai). The construction is part of a joint venture for international submarine cables in Southeast Asia. It is expected to start in June 2022 said, NTT Myanmar chief Yasuhiro Kishi.
