The Italian Entering Myanmar Hotel and Tourism Industry

According to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), an Italian company has been granted permission to develop a hotel project worth US$3.2 million in Tanintharyi Regions's Kawthoung district, with a local joint venture of Myanmar Green Century, long after no investments.
According to DICA, Kawthoung, with many popular islands, currently has more than 10 travel agencies running and about nine hotels with a total of 500 rooms has permitted.
About 9690 travelers from Italy visited Myanmar during seven months between January and July, up 22 percent compare to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.

A flight, from Europe to Myanmar, operates once a week, stopping over in Phu Quoc, Vietnam before Yangon.
